- This series contains correspondence, memoranda, and inventory forms enumerating local war councils' available firefighting personnel and equipment, which was surveyed by the State Fire Administrator to measure the state's capabilities and needs. The State Fire Administrator was appointed to coordinate the work of preparing local fire departments for emergencies caused by possible enemy bombing. Items inventoried include: pumpers and related equipment; personnel; first aid equipment; motorized firefighting or related equipment; fire alarms and sirens; and hose supplies.

- This series primarily contains reports compiled by the federal National Resources Planning Board and the Office of Defense Health and Welfare Services detailing conditions in several communities. The reports, which detail each community's conditions in education, health, housing, industry, infrastructure, labor, planning, and transportation - and discuss the impact of the war and military on these areas - were sent to the State War Council to assist with war planning efforts.

- The Office of the Professions (OTP) is responsible for licensing, registration, discipline, and general oversight of thirty-eight professions regulated by state education law. For each profession, board members are appointed by the State Board of Regents. The boards meet regularly to consider pending issues and recommend actions to improve the practice and agency oversight of their respective professions. For more recent meetings, boards generally maintain full meeting files (minutes, agendas, etc.). Most boards have preserved only the actual minutes from earlier years.

- This series consists of an incomplete card file that apparently indexes Erie Canal surveys, construction, and/or claims for damage. It may be part may be an index to Middle Division field books (found in series B0730, Engineer's Field Books Pertaining to the Construction of the State's Canal System). Many references are to the period of the second canal enlargement (so-called "9 Million Improvement") in 1896. There are also references to canal feeders and ancillary canals associated with the canal enlargement of 1835-1841.

- This series consists of two original volumes (Vol. A and Vol. B) of accounts for obligations incurred by the state from 1775-1794. Entries include abstracts of pay and ration rolls for militia officers and private soldiers; accounts for supplies purchased or requisitioned; accounts for soldiers' back pay or widows' pensions; accounts for loyalist lands leased or sold; accounts for service by state officers and; accounts of port fees. Original manuscript indexes to Volumes A and B and bound photostatic copies of the two original volumes are also included in the series.

- These are transcripts of testimony taken by the Commission for Investigation of Workmen's Compensation Law Administration at public hearings held in 1943-1944, meant to reveal factors that prevented workmen's compensation from reaching intended beneficiaries. The transcripts contain testimony from individuals involved in or having close knowledge of compensation cases or compensation administration. Witnesses gave testimony concerning inadequacies, irregularities, and fraud in the administration of the Workmen's Compensation Law, including inadequate medical treatment, kickbacks, bribes, and other illegal or unethical activities.
