Summary
- This series consists of two original volumes (Vol. A and Vol. B) of accounts for obligations incurred by the state from 1775-1794. Entries include abstracts of pay and ration rolls for militia officers and private soldiers; accounts for supplies purchased or requisitioned; accounts for soldiers' back pay or widows' pensions; accounts for loyalist lands leased or sold; accounts for service by state officers and; accounts of port fees. Original manuscript indexes to Volumes A and B and bound photostatic copies of the two original volumes are also included in the series.

Scope and Content Note
This series consists of copies of accounts audited by the Auditor General for obligations incurred by the state during years 1775-1794. Entries include abstracts of pay and ration rolls for militia officers and private soldiers during the Revolutionary War. In addition to name and amount due, some entries give information on rank or length of service.
Also included are accounts for supplies purchased or requisitioned during the war; accounts for individual soldiers' back pay or for widows' pensions; accounts for loyalist lands leased or sold by the Commissioners of Forfeitures; accounts for service by members of Congress, the Committee for Detecting and Defeating Conspiracies, the Commissioners of Indian Affairs, the Surveyor-General, and other state offices; accounts of fees received by Collectors for the Ports of New York and Sag Harbour, 1780's; and accounts presented for miscellaneous services.

Processing Information
Original Volumes A and B were rebound in two parts each following the New York State Capitol building fire of 1911. Bound photostatic copies of the two original volumes were added to the series at an unknown date.
