- The bulk of the series consists of cancelled checks drawn on the National Commercial Bank between 1895 and 1900. In addition is a smaller amount of cancelled checks issued by the State Treasurer (1879-1880, 1895) and drawn on various banks. Each of these bears check and warrant numbers, amount, name of payee, bank drawn on, signatures of the Treasurer and Auditor, and endorsements.

- This volume, kept for the auditing and accounting purposes of the New York House of Refuge, documents the receipts and disbursements of the Industrial Department. Following the legislative prohibition of prison contract labor, the institution in 1888 effected a major reorganization and expansion of industrial and mechanical trades education. This volume records payments made by the Department and receipts generated by its industries.

- The War Transportation Committee was responsible for ensuring that bus routes started during the war did not overlap with existing routes and waste automotive resources. Application for permission was required before initiating new bus lines. - These volumes list information about persons to whom reformatory inmates were bound out. Information includes master's name and address; inmate's number; and date of indenture agreement. In addition the first volume (1825-1845) lists the master's occupation, the second volume (1860-1873) lists the inmate's name, and the third volume (1869-1903) lists the inmate's name and a reference to the master's prior experience with indentured inmates.

- This series consists of business records of the East Boston Timber Company, a private company that owned Grand Island and a number of lake boats. The state seized these records after the company went bankrupt. Also included are records of the Steamboats Red Jacket and Victory and other shipping records.
