Transcribed minutes of New York's governing bodies in the early years of the Revolution concern such subjects as military activities, plans, and orders to officers; military fortifications, arms, and supplies; payments for military supplies or service; movements of British troops and ships; relations of Americans and British with Indians; punishment of suspected loyalists; approval of Declaration of Independence; issuance of paper currency; and communication with other colonies and with the Continental Congress concerning military and financial matters. The minutes were transcribed pursuant to Chapter 115 of the Laws of 1804.
