- The temporary state commission on Postwar Public Works Planning was created to oversee the progress of such state projects as railroad grade crossing eliminations, highways buildings and public housing projects, and to order the preparation of plans and specifications for those state projects. This series consists of maps of proposed and completed state, county and municipal public works projects and depict two types of construction: highways and non-highway projects (barge canal, bridges, schools, sewer systems, housing projects, water supply, etc.).

- This volume contains abstracts of vouchers pertaining to the support of the state's military at the outset of the Civil War. Each entry provides date, voucher number, description, and amount. The bulk of the series pertains to three million dollars appropriated to raise and equip 30,000 troops for federal service with vouchers for rations, bedding, eating utensils, uniforms, arms, equipment, and transportation costs. Other accounts relate to purchase of arms and equipment for the state's militia, for military hospital supplies, for quartering costs, and for personnel in the military bureaucracy.

- This series contains accounts of fines levied against members of the State Militia. Chapter 222 of the Laws of 1818 reestablished the New York State Militia and provided (Section 25) for the accounting of fines levied by Courts of Inquiry (Courts Martial) by the state comptroller, and for collection of delinquent accounts by the sheriffs. Accounts contain general information about court proceedings, fines imposed, and payments made. In a few cases, the name of defendant and the nature of the charges are mentioned.
