- The series documents New York's participation in several interstate sanitary and water pollution control commissions including those related to following draingage basins: boundry waters, Delaware River, Susquehanna River, Ohio River Valley, and Great Lakes. The files include correspondence, memoranda, minutes of meetings and hearings, transcripts, analytical data, and investigation studies. Maps, diagrams, and some photographs are also present, most often in copies of commission reports, promotional literature, or special research projects.

- This series from the Department of State includes complete hearing files relating to a proposed garbage reduction plant to be erected on Staten Island. In addition, there are partial records of an earlier hearing relating to an application by Richmond County residents for the abatement of a public nuisance, namely emissions from industry operating at Constable Hook, city of Bayonne, State of New Jersey.

- This series contains files on the establishment of enforceable water quality standards for interstate and coastal waters. The Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1965 required each state to adopt water quality standards applicable to interstate waters within or on its borders. The Department of Health's Division of Pure Waters drafted the New York standards. Files include reports, hearing summaries, correspondence, memorandums, and maps.

- This series consists of admiralty claims cases filed within the jurisdiction of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Claims relate to prize cases; seamen's wages and treatment; salvage; evasion of customs regulations; insubordination; attempted mutiny; and passenger assault. Files may contain libels, monitions, claims and answers, interrogatories, depositions, and court orders. Prize cases are most common and include libels, processes, pleadings, court decrees, condemned property sales, bills of cost, muster rolls, ship owner's instructions, invoices of goods laden, and certificates of clearance.

- This series contains material exchanged between the Office of Civilian Protection and other states' civil defense organizations in order to share information on operations, regulations, and issues such as blackouts and airplane spotting. A collection of civil defense newspapers from various states constitutes a large part of the series. Also found are civil defense annual or special reports, newspaper clippings about civil defense activities, and correspondence, memoranda, pamphlets and maps.

- This series consists of the charter from Charles II, King of England, granting land to his brother James, Duke of York. The charter gave James the authority to send an armed force to compel the Dutch surrender of the New Netherland province to the English. It grants territory that now comprises most of Maine, part of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and part of Pennsylvania to James and specifies details of governanceand management.
