- This volume is a transcript of testimony taken before Ansley Wilcox, a special commissioner appointed by the Governor, regarding charges against Asa Bird Gardiner. The charges, communicated to the Governor by the municipal Government Committee of the City Club of New York, were that Gardiner corruptly or negligently dismissed indictments and failed to bring actions against sureties on forfeited bail bonds.

- This series consists of inmates' psychological testing records, primarily the Tree-House-Person drawing test and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale test, but some Rorschach ink-blot pictures responses and Incomplete Sentences test forms, and Mooney Problem Check Lists are included. Files usually included data forms with detailed personal information including race, military service, education, and family and social background. The series also contains a file of monthly psychologist's reports detailing the number of tests and counseling sessions given.

- The bulk of this series consists of resignations and removals of elected and appointed public officers that were filed in the Secretary of State's office pursuant to Chapter 126 of the Laws of 1850, which stipulated that written resignations were to be submitted and signed by the incumbent. Also included are records concerning investigations and hearings dealing with possible malfeasance, such as the impeachment of Governor William Sulzer. Sulzer documents include articles of impeachment in the Assembly, proceedings of the Court for the Trial of Impeachments (composed of the Senate and judges of the Court of Appeals), and the court's judgment removing Governor Sulzer from office.

This series consists of Chaplain's notes on paroled inmates receiving religious instruction. Information includes name, to whom and date paroled; type of parole, address; parole status, date returned; and subsequent parole dates. Also included are communion class lists and a list of inmates who pledged to stay away from alcohol. Records are restricted.
