- This series contains responses from two hazardous waste surveys. The first was conducted by Department of Environmental Conservation headquarters (Albany) staff in 1976-1977, where staff interviewed companies throughout the state that were engaged in hazardous waste activities and completed a form template. The second was administered by the Interagency Task Force (IATF) investigating waste disposal in Erie and Niagara Counties in 1978-1979. Files for the second survey include responses from multiple companies, including Allied Chemical Corporation, Hooker Chemical & Plastics Corporation, and Union Carbide Corporation.

Entries generally provide date; name of person, company, or state agency; amount; and purpose of payment. The volumes also contain lists of amounts of interest earned on Canal Fund moneys in banks throughout the state. Each entry on these lists provides name of bank, location (New York, Brooklyn, Buffalo, etc.), and amount of interest earned.

- This series consist of payroll records from Temporary Emergency Relief Administration (TERA) projects in upstate New York as well as from the Emergency Nursery School Project and part-time Education Department clerical staff hired on TERA funds to work in Albany. The records include weekly payroll sheets with employee's name; sex; occupation; hours worked; wage rate; total earnings; and (occasionally) case number. Attached to payroll sheets are employee's time sheets, signed by the local supervisor certifying the time claimed.
