The questionnaires provide name and address of individual, firm, or organization; type of business; and type of license for application is made. The series also contains petitions signed by liquor store owners urging that the Commission not recommend lifting limits on the number of licenses allowed or removing price controls.

- The Governor's Commission on Libraries was appointed by Governor Hugh Carey in 1976 to plan for the New York State Governor's Conference on Libraries, held in 1978.
