Summary
- This volume contains recorded copies of three partition deeds for Adirondack Forest Preserve Lands owned in common by the state and private parties, executed pursuant to the Laws of 1895, Chapter 273. There is also a deed to the United States for land on Staten Island and accompanying deeds of cession of jurisdiction by the governor to the U.S., made pursuant to the Laws of 1896.

- Mortgages to the state were required to be registered in the Secretary of State's office. This series contains mortgages primarily for lands sold by the state in patents and former Indian reservations. Information includes mortgagor, property description and mortgage terms. Many mortgages were discharged or cancelled. A certificate of payment and cancellation was entered in the margin. Discharges are mostly for lots in the East and West Cayuga Reservations.

- The published version of the Balloting Book contains documents and lists relating to the allotment of bounty lands in the Military Tract in central New York and includes. names of soldiers by regiment with location and acreage of grant and date of patent. Also provided are lists of officers and soldiers by unit; of lots in each township with acreage; and of Canadian and Nova Scotian Refugees entitled to land grants with lot numbers assigned to them.

- This series consists of bonds relating to land purchased in Lots 11 and 12 of the Old Military Tract. Bonds provide name and residence of purchaser; amount of bond; date; location of parcel; and terms of payment. Bonds were taken by the comptroller pursuant to Chapter 106 of the Laws of 1803, which provided for sale of certain unappropriated lands.

Sir William Pulteney (with others) purchased the unsold lands of the (Oliver) Phelps and (Nathaniel) Gorham syndicate in 1792. Records consist of letter books, deed books, surveys, maps and other documents relating to the Pulteney Estate in western New York.

- The Holland Land Company was an association of Dutch banks and other investors speculating in American land during the late 1700s. This series consists of records of deeds held by persons who purchased land from the Company. Most volumes contain an alphabetical name index; these also give deed number, township, range, lot, and acreage.

- This series contains deeds, in Dutch, recorded by the provincial secretary from September 5, 1652 until October 15, 1653. The provincial secretary was responsible for recording all land transactions in New Netherland.
