- This series contains transcriptions of enrolled decrees, the final determinations in equity cases involving a complainant and defendant. The decrees were issued by the Chancellor, the Circuit Judge in the 1st Circuit (1823-1829), the Vice-Chancellor in the 1st Circuit (1830-1847), or (after July 1, 1847) a Justice of the Supreme Court. The most numerous case category is mortgage foreclosures. Less numerous case categories include matrimonial proceedings (divorce, separation, annulment), commercial disputes, wills, trusts, injunctions, and receiverships.

Summary
- This series consists of bonds for the performance of duties executed by guardians, committees, and receivers. A law of 1815 required a court appointed guardian to give bond to the infant-trustee. The bond was to be filed with the court. In practice such bonds were also required from committees for lunatics and habitual drunkards, receivers of property of insolvent corporations, and administrators of estates.

- This series consists of annual financial statements made by the Register, Assistant Register, and Clerks of the Chancery Circuits pursuant to the 127th rule of the court. These statements were submitted to an Injunction or Taxing Master who was required to audit them, certify to their accuracy, and file them with the Chancellor or the appropriate Vice Chancellor. Each statement contains a listing by suit or matter of funds in possession of the court.

- This series consists of draft decrees and orders used as entry documentation for the State Court of Chancery Common Order Book 1806-1830, Register's Minutes of Decrees 1830-1847, and Register's Minutes of Common Orders 1830-1847. Draft decrees appear in this series beginning in 1830. Occasionally a draft court rule or certificate of registry of a solicitor or counsellor appear. Within some court sessions some common orders, special orders, and decrees are bundled separately by court session.

- This series consists of copies of orders and decrees issued by the Chancellor in cases of disputes between the Utica and Schenectady Railroad and owners of property it wished to appropriate. A law of 1833 incorporated the railroad and established the procedures for resolving such conflicts in the Court of Chancery. Records include orders directing both parties interested in the property to attend an initial hearing; orders appointing commissions of three competent and disinterested freeholders of the county in which the property is located to appraise that property; and Chancellor's final decrees.

- Chapter 12 of the Laws of 1788 gave the Court of Chancery the responsibility for overseeing the well being and property of persons deemed idiots or lunatics and infant trustees (persons under the age of 21 whose person and estate are under the care of a trustee of guardian). - This series consists of a list of final decrees issued by the Chancellor that were docketed, at the request of any party involved in a case, when a decree required a money payment by the losing party. Information recorded includes name of party against whom decree was rendered; his county and place of residence; his title, trade, or profession; amount of damages, debt, or cost decreed; date and time of docketing; name of all parties involved in the case; and when (if) decree was discharged, reversed, or vacated.

- This series is an outdated partial index to Enrolled Chancery Decrees After 1800. It was superseded by J0064, Index of Enrolled Decrees After 1800. Entries include complainant, defendant, solicitor and decree file date. Entries before 1830 also include the object of the suit and the nature of the decree; this information is not included in J0064, Index of Enrolled Decrees.

- Chapter 70 of the Laws of 1822 abolished the Court of Probates and transferred all appeals, suits, judgments, and decrees pending in that court to the Court of Chancery. This series consists of records that document such transfers. The three items included in this series are the receipt of Gerrit W. Lansing (last judge of the Court of Probates) for funds and records transferred, Lansing's accounts with the Court of Probates, and a listing of cases transferred.

- This series consists of Register's statements on mortgage foreclosure cases handled by the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor respectively. Each contains totals of bills filed for mortgage foreclosure, decrees issued for sale of mortgaged premises, and sales conducted. Also included is an alphabetical case list enumerating the complainant, defendant, costs allowed by the court and the decree amount awarded. Entries for cases in which a sale actually took place include the property's sale amount and the total costs in the case.

- The laws of 1830 incorporated the New York Life Insurance and Trust Company and stipulated that the Court of Chancery could appoint this institution as a guardian for infants whose estates yielded an annual income exceeding $100. The court used the Trust Company as a depository for the monies of infants and for other purposes. This series consists of the accounts of infants under the care of a court appointed guardian with the Trust Company.
