- These volumes contain testimony concerning claims against the state for damages caused by the rupture of the dam at the North Lake Reservoir on the Black River in winter, 1869. Testimony includes extensive hydrologic and engineering data and also provides considerable information about mills, bridges, and other property damaged by the flood.

- Among the records in this series are documents from a November 27, 2001 public hearing on the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease. That hearing addressed the long-term use of intravenous antibiotic treatment in cases of chronic Lyme disease. Several physicians were under investigation for administering this treatment. Records include written testimony from medical professionals, including supporting medical literature; and correspondence from individuals recounting their experience seeking treatment for symptoms that some physicians linked to chronic Lyme disease.

- This series consists of newspaper clipping and subject files, public comment correspondence files, and public hearing testimony and transcripts compiled by the Committee on Sentencing Guidelines. The series contains copies of incoming correspondence from and committee replies to directors of criminal justice agencies, district attorneys, members of the judiciary, citizen advocacy groups, legal scholars, correctional facility inmates, and private citizens. The series also contains prepared testimony and transcripts of public hearings held by the committee in Albany, Buffalo, and New York City in February of 1985. Correspondence and testimony pertain to the committee's proposals in relation to earned reduction in sentences, prison discipline, determinate sentencing, judicial discretion, and mandatory parole terms.

- The Governor's Commission on Libraries was appointed by Governor Hugh Carey in 1976 to plan for the New York State Governor's Conference on Libraries, held in 1978. At these hearings, students, teachers, librarians, administrators, and others from public, private, school, and academic libraries expressed their concerns.
