- This series consists of a receipt of payment of a bill for the publication of a notice in the <emph render="italic">Albany Morning Express</emph>. The notice set the terms for submission to the canal commissioners of contract proposals for work on the Black River Canal. The bill was paid by the commissioners, and the receipt gives the date; name of newspaper, publisher, and commissioner who made the payment; amount paid; and a newspaper clipping of the printed notice.
