- Most of the documents in this series are notices of joinder in demurrer, in which the plaintiff states that the demurrer will be opposed and the court moved for judgment on the ground that the defendant's demurrer is frivolous. There are also a few special motions for appointment of commissioners to admeasure dower, for stay of proceedings, for issuance of writs of certiorari or mandamus, and other actions. Earlier Geneva motion papers appear to have been lost.

Special orders generally include the name of the requester; the reason for issuing the order; the substance of the order; and occasionally the particulars of the case.

- This series consists of one volume of handwritten forms to be used as models for various types of orders, decrees, and writs issued by the Court of Chancery. A law of 1803 allowed the Court to determine and change the form of all orders, decrees, and process it issued. The elimination of or changes in a form is noted through annotations. These annotations often cite the date and the court rule mandating the change.

- This series consists of admiralty claims cases filed within the jurisdiction of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Claims relate to prize cases; seamen's wages and treatment; salvage; evasion of customs regulations; insubordination; attempted mutiny; and passenger assault. Files may contain libels, monitions, claims and answers, interrogatories, depositions, and court orders. Prize cases are most common and include libels, processes, pleadings, court decrees, condemned property sales, bills of cost, muster rolls, ship owner's instructions, invoices of goods laden, and certificates of clearance.

- This fragmentary series consists of lists of freeholders qualified to serve as jurors in the trial of issues in the Supreme Court of Judicature, as returned by sheriffs or county clerks. Each list gives the names of freeholders, their places of abode, and their "additions" (occupations or ranks). Most of the lists were compiled and returned for the empanelling of struck juries.

- This series consists of writs of attachment, issued under seal of the Supreme Court of Judicature, ordering a sheriff or coroner to attach a person disobeying a court rule and to make him appear to answer for his contempt. Persons subject to attachment included judges, court clerks, attorneys, sheriffs, witnesses, jurors, and other public officers. The writ was most frequently issued after an incumbent or a former sheriff had failed to execute and return a writ of fieri facias.
