Summary
This series consists of ninety two volumes of bound depositions of resident aliens affirming their intentions to become naturalized U.S. citizens. Arranged in loose chronological order by the date on which they were received in the Department of State, the depositions include: name of alien and place of residence (later years sometimes list address); alien's signature or mark; and occasionally the country of origin and/or occupation of the resident alien.

This series documents the state's acquisition of real property for the Barge Canal system, pursuant to Laws of 1903, Chapter 147, as amended. The series consists of depositions sworn to by employees of the Department of Public Works stating that the deponent had personally served notices of appropriation, along with maps and description of property appropriated for Barge Canal purposes, upon the reputed owners of said property.

This series contains transcripts of testimony, letters, and depositions of officials, employees, and inmates providing information on conditions and treatment of inmates at the Rensselaer County Almshouse. The testimony covers routine operations of the institution, conduct and efficiency of the staff, and treatment and abuse of inmates. Included is information on the case of alleged abuse of almshouse hospital patients by nurse, William Wilmot.
