- This series consists of volumes documenting three individual contracts for improvement of the Erie and Oswego Canals: Contract No. 8-A (Erie Canal Section 2) involved the construction of Lock No. 8 and the substructure of Dam No. 4 in the Mohawk River at Scotia; Contract No. 206 (Erie Canal Section 9) pertained to the raising of the bridge over Lock No. 33 at Edgewood Avenue in Rochester; and Contract No. 10-A (Oswego Canal Section 1) involved completing construction of the canal and raising the upper dam at Fulton.

- The series consists of the files of the World's Fair Commission, together with contractors' plans and drawings prepared under the authority of the commission for the New York State exhibit at the 1939-1940 World's Fair. Along with commission subject files and general correspondence, these files include meeting minutes, contracts, bonds, bids and estimates of contractors for exhibit work, accident and insurance reports, photographs, and publications. The records also include blueprints, pencil drawings, and artwork.

- This series contains original linen plans for Barge Canal System contracts furnished under Chapter 147, Laws of 1903. The law directed the State Engineer and Surveyor to make maps, plans, and specifications prior to assigning contracts. The series is arranged by contract number and contains maps for contracts 1-236. Cayuga and Seneca contracts, produced later and not included in the original Barge Canal contract list, follow an alphabetical order.
