- This series contains registers which record the number of patients in the custody of the Rome State School and its predecessor, the Rome State Custodial Asylum. Information includes a daily count of males and females for each month and notes regarding patient admissions, discharges, deaths, physicians travelling, inspections, visits by board members, and other significant event information on the day each occurs.

- This series consists of fragmentary burned schedules of the Census of Electors taken in 1814. The schedules give the name of the head of the family, the number of electors in various property classes (see descriptions of Census of Electors, 1801), the number of free white males and females under age 18, age 18 - 45, and over 45, and the number of free blacks and slaves.

This series contains "Multivariate Application of Population Statistics" (MAPS) prepared by Pick, likely for the Puerto Rican and Hispanic Task Force. It also includes material generated by the Legislative Task Force on Demographic Research and Reapportionment pertaining to the 1992 legislative redistricting in New York, and reports generated by the Legislature's Office of Statistical Information.

- The Commissioners of Public Charities requested information about every non-institutionalized insane or retarded person to determine what provisions the state should make for their care and to plan appropriate legislation. Forms provide information regarding background and condition of mentally ill or retarded persons not currently under state care: name; sex; age; birth county; marital status; occupation; year disability began; if recovered, living independently, or died during the year; and remarks on the diagnosis and severity of the condition.

- With the declaration of World War I, the State Department of Health placed its organization and resources at the disposal of the New York State Defense Council and the Adjutant General's Office. - This series consists of daily census records maintained by staff of the State Lunatic Asylum (later Utica State Hospital). Records include total number of male and female patients with number admitted and discharged. Information generally includes brief notes concerning visitors; religious services or entertainment programs; departures, destinations and return of staff; thermometer and barometer readings; weather; meetings and unusual canal conditions. Of note are census statistics when half the population was transferred to Marcy State Hospital.

- This series consists of transmittal letters, some containing summary reporting data on admissions and discharges, and a few notices of discharge of individual inmates. The records were sent by superintendents of various county almshouses. Institutions represented include the New York City Farm Colony; Richmond County Almshouse; Rockland County Almshouse; and the Home for the Aged and Infirm of Brooklyn Division.
