- This series consists of cassette tape recordings and typed transcripts of interviews with administrators and employees of the State Education Department, Board of Regents members, and other educators. The interviews were conducted in 1993 by Rose Mary Roy as research for her doctoral dissertation. The general subject of the interviews is the development, procedures, activities, and impact of the Education Department's doctoral program review during the period 1964-1977. Special attention is given to the role of the Board of Regents in developing and guiding the doctoral program review.

- The Governor's Commission on Libraries was appointed by Governor Hugh Carey in 1976 to plan for the New York State Governor's Conference on Libraries, held in 1978. Prior to the Conference, the Commission held public hearings in Buffalo, New York City, Albany, and Syracuse. At these hearings, students, teachers, librarians, administrators, and others from public, private, school, and academic libraries expressed their concerns. The series contains transcripts of each day's hearings and written statements submitted to the Commission.

- This accretion consists of a series of eight two-hour digital audiotape (DAT) cartridges of folk music concerts entitled "Families of New Yorkers" sponsored by the Council's Folk Arts Program. The concerts feature authentic folk music by performers from a wide variety of New York ethnic and geographic backgrounds, most of whom had never before been recorded. In addition to the actual performances, each tape contains ca. 10-15 minutes of introductory remarks that discuss the backgrounds of the performers and attempt to place the music in context.

Evidence supplied by informants ranged from well-documented allegations to totally unsupported innuendo.
