- This series contains drafts or typescripts by or for the state historian apparently considered for publication. Included is a preface and four articles intended as an introduction to published papers of military officer and Indian negotiator Sir William Johnson. The unused articles are by James Austen Holden, Robert W. Chambers, Wolcott W. Ellsworth, and Richard E. Day. Also included are two versions of a George Clinton biography, and lists of records in the British Public Record Office and British Museum.

- This volume contains official correspondence between Governor Clinton and the State Legislature, as well as gubernatorial proclamations and annual messages. Governor Clinton apparently used this book to record his official gubernatorial correspondence concerning legislative and judicial matters; the volume breaks off after Clinton retired from office in 1795 and resumes in 1802 following his return to office.

- Most of the documents in this series were created by Major General Benedict Arnold during the Revolutionary War to supply information to the British Army concerning the conditions, personnel, and ordnance of the American fortifications at West Point, New York. Types of information include disposition of troops and artillery pieces in case of alarm; ordnance reports in different forts, redoubts, and batteries; report of the fortification conditions; and estimates and actually numbers of men necessary to fortify the works.

The series also includes some printed broadsides.
