- The commission compiled these case files to track individual investigations of doctors, x-ray laboratories, surgical supply firms, hospitals, insurance companies, and others involved in, or transacting business with parties involved in, workers' compensation cases. The case files usually contain records subpoenaed by the commission, such as compensation medical report forms; patient medical histories, sometimes including notes on each visit; bank statements; cancelled checks or check stubs; bank deposit slips; schedules of cash receipts and disbursements; and ledgers.

- Although labeled as "speech files" of Angela Paresi, chairman of the Workmen's Compensation Board from 1955-1961, the series contains no copies of speeches. The files actually consist of press releases, issued mainly by Governor Averell Harriman and the Department of Labor; scattered issues of newsletters of the State University of New York; and black and white photographic prints of Paresi, Robert Wagner, and members of the Workmen's Compensation Board. The association of these files with Paresi's speechmaking is unknown.

Approximately 500 cards contain summary information from the National Council on Compensation Insurance relating to workers' compensation losses and premiums in New York industries from 1934 to 1944. These cards provide name of industry (furniture assembly, hotels and boarding houses, laundries, rubber tire manufacturing, etc.); year; payroll amount; and losses and premiums.

Entries include employee name, deposit amount, type of case, dates money deposited/removed from fund, and percentages and financial calculations pertaining to deposit.
