Summary
- This series consists of reports of standing and special committees appointed by the New York House of Refuge Board of Managers. Series includes reports for indenturing, insurance, theater, school, classification, special, and building committees. The volumes contain reports of three special committees established to influence pending legislation: 1868 - to support an augmented appropriation to replace burned workshops; 1882 - to oppose diversifying theater license revenues to an actors' fund; and 1883 - to oppose prohibition of contract labor and visitation rights for Catholic priests.

The institution's name was changed to the New York State Industrial School in 1886 and New York State Agricultural and Industrial School in 1907.
