- With the declaration of World War I, the State Department of Health placed its organization and resources at the disposal of the New York State Defense Council and the Adjutant General's Office. - This series consists of clippings from various newspapers throughout the state, mostly found in envelopes addressed to Dr. Hiram Jones at the State Education Department and sent from Capital City News Bureau in Albany.
