Part I of each report contains data on seven serious crimes (murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft). Data from Part I is furnished to the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) system for inclusion in their national Crime Index. In accordance with FBI guidelines, Part II contains data on twenty-one lesser felonies and misdemeanors.
