- This series consists of records pertaining to the activities of the Consumer Counsel to Governor W. Averell Harriman, Dr. Persia Campbell, and her staff. Records relate to such subjects as: aging, credit sales, food additives, funeral costs, purchasing and maintenance of homes, Long Island Railroad fares, milk marketing, television servicing, trading stamps and wage assignments. The Consumer Counsel was responsible for advising Governor Harriman on matters affecting consumers, and working to protect consumers from fraud and misrepresentation.

The bound volumes constitute a five-volume set of maps showing land appropriations made pursuant to Chapter 79 of the Laws of 1895.
