Series includes a distinct subset known as the "T" volumes that consist of surveys conducted using a theodolite survey instrument.

The files pertain exclusively to transactions that occurred in Oneida, Erie, Essex, Niagara, and Franklin counties.

- The series consists of maps produced by the Adirondack Park Agency for the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan of 1973. The maps consist of a printed base map of each county (sometimes done in sections) prepared by the Office of Planning Services, with an attached plastic film overlay in colors representing the various land use classifications. Additionally, wilderness areas and "primitive areas" are represented.

- Verplanck Colvin and his field assistants created this series using the field notes they compiled during their survey of the Adirondack wilderness of New York. The majority of the maps are topographical or cadastral maps and typically show elements of the natural and built environment (such as lakes, rivers, ponds, mountains, roads, and railroads) as well as names of property owners, lot numbers, and pertinent landmarks used in land surveying.

Summary
- Upstate Correctional Facility is a maximum security state prison for men in Franklin County, New York. The prison, in Town of Malone, was the first New York State prison built as a supermax prison. Upstate C.F. was established in 1998 to house special prisoners with a history of assaultive behavior. Programs available to the prisoners are based on the acceptance of the established rules and other behavior indicating a degree of social conformity. Approximately 350 corrections officers, aided by more than 1000 remote cameras, supervise about 1300 prisoners.

They were apparently prepared to determine land ownership for the purpose of tax assessment. Also included are 38 published atlases of counties, boroughs, cities, and towns, most of which were annotated with lot numbers and names of owners, for the purpose of tax assessment.
