The tax-sale of 1808 was conducted for instances of nonpayment of the U.S. direct tax. The facility opened in 1984 and was closed by the State of New York in 2011. Inmate case files describe in great detail the family and social background, arrest, confinement, and release/parole of incarcerated men. This series contains the case file of one inmate incarcerated in Attica Correctional Facility at the time of the 1971 uprising.

- The series consists of maps produced by the Adirondack Park Agency for the Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan of 1973. The maps consist of a printed base map of each county (sometimes done in sections) prepared by the Office of Planning Services, with an attached plastic film overlay in colors representing the various land use classifications. Additionally, wilderness areas and "primitive areas" are represented.

The records were compiled pursuant to Chapter 711 of the Laws of 1893, which allowed the Comptroller to advertise a list of the wild, vacant, and forest lands for which the State held title. The Comptroller's notice as to ownership lists towns, lot numbers, a brief description of the land, and the number of acres.

- This series contains tax assessors atlases of counties, boroughs, cities, and towns. The bulk of the records are assessors atlases of counties and towns in Kings and Richmond counties. They were apparently prepared to determine land ownership for the purpose of tax assessment. Also included are 38 published atlases of counties, boroughs, cities, and towns, most of which were annotated with lot numbers and names of owners, for the purpose of tax assessment.

- This series consists of data sheets and reference county maps generated to provide data for developing a proposed new system of establishing use values for agricultural lands, particularly farms located within established agricultural districts and therefore eligible for real property benefits. While data was generated for all sales of farms in New York State during the years 1983-1985, this series only includes data for 23 counties. Moreover, sales to non-farmers are excluded.

Summary
- This series consists of memorandums, correspondence, maps, copies of deeds, newspaper clippings, publications, reports and cassette tapes generated as a consequence of an occupation of state-owned land at Moss Lake (Herkimer County) by a dissident group of Mohawk Indians who rejected the 1797 treaty by which the state acquired title. The Mohawks established a community they called Ganienkeh on the occupied land. Subsequent negotiation, supervised by the Secretary of State, led to the withdrawal of the Indians from Moss Lake and the move of Ganienkeh to two parcels of land in Clinton County.

- This series consists of 34 annotated county maps showing boundaries of fire districts and fire protection districts, as well as related correspondence. These maps were used by the commission to assist in the development and revision of laws relating to volunteer firemen and to fire prevention and protection in municipalities and the state. Records also include lists by county indicating fire districts for each town and their establishment date, as well as correspondence with county fire coordinators, requesting action on the boundary maps and providing instructions.
