This series consists of abstracts probably provided by the Secretary of State's office accounting for the expiration date of the terms of office of commissioners of deeds in other states, territories and foreign countries. Volume 1 lists the appointee's name; residence; commission date and the previous officer. Volume 2 also includes the date the oath of office was taken or filed. Volume 3 includes the appointment date or expiration date of term in office and appointee name and residence.

All new teachers at such schools must be approved by the Education Department, and schools must meet facility, equipment, faculty, financial, and curriculum requirements upon registration. Laws passed by the first Assembly

Summary

These are commonly known as "Dongan's Laws." The first chapter of the laws is the "Charter of Liberties and Privileges" which was passed by the assembly (first New York legislature) on October 17, 1683. Through these laws the English Colonial Governor, Colonel Thomas Dongan, a Catholic, extended freedom of religion and other important rights to the colony. This provision was included in substance in Section 38 of the Constitution of 1777.

The registers cover the period from May 24, 1877 to December 27, 1950 and consecutive numbers from 1 to 51274. Registers covering the period from October 14, 1886 to December 4, 1891 and consecutive numbers 2399 to 4973 are missing. Registers provide consecutive number; name of incarcerated individual; date of admission; date of sentence; maximum sentence; crime; county of sentencing; court; judge; age; height; weight; complexion; eye color; hair color; state or country of nativity; nationality; temperate or intemperate; and religion.
