Freshwater wetlands inventory maps

This series consists of overlay maps (which coincide with U. S. Geographical survey quadrangles) that are products of a Division of Fish and Wildlife wetlands inventory project. Apparently created to compile a comprehensive statewide survey to seek out, identify, and collect data on state wetlands, the maps provide data on the location, size, plant composition, cover types, bogs, drainage links, channels, nearby lakes, and grid coordinates. Record are fragile, use is only with assistance of archivist.

Field books of Verplanck Colvin for the Adirondack Survey

This series consists of field books created by Verplanck Colvin during his survey of the Adirondack region. The volumes are made up predominantly of survey notes and sketches. Many also contain additional notes, topographical sketches, and letters. Indexes, legends, and conversion tables are also frequently found. Series includes a distinct subset known as the "T" volumes that consist of surveys conducted using a theodolite survey instrument.

The Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1965 required each state to adopt water quality standards applicable to interstate waters within or on its borders. Ivan P. Vamos served as deputy commissioner of Planning and Operations from 1978 to 1993, under Commissioner Orin Lehman in the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP). This series contains correspondence, memoranda, copies of deeds, geological surveys, research studies/reports, and environmental analyses. The records document the operations of parks, recreation and historic sites, and include material on such topics as evaluations of storm damage, environmental issues and repairs, trail maintenance, and maintenance of bridges and roads leading to and from state parks.
