This series consists of correspondence, memoranda, itineraries, reports, news releases, photographs, promotional brochures and pamphlets concerning public relations activities conducted by the Thruway Authority. The files mostly relate to opening ceremonies for each newly completed section of the Thruway, and inspection tours conducted for groups interested in the Thruway. From its establishment in 1950, the Authority exercised an active public relations program designed to distribute information to the public and to promote support for and use of the Thruway.
