Scope and Content Note
Correspondence, memorandums, and drafts of promotional materials, and copies of printed court documents concerning Court of Claims Claim Number 43807. In this case the Authority claimed it was due a credit from the State for expenditures made by the Authority for improvements, or "betterments," to highway, parkway, and canal systems adjacent to the Thruway Corridor. The Court of Claims was given jurisdiction in the case by legislative act in 1964. The promotional materials consist of drafts of statements and an incomplete paste up copy of a pamphlet explaining and supporting the Authority's position in the case. The printed court documents include the following claimant's submissions: Claimant's Memoranda (1-13); Chronology of the Thruway, the Thruway Authority and Its Claim; Report on the Trial of Claim No. 43807; and Claimant's Comments on State's Proposed Findings, Vol. II and Claimant's Supplemental Proposed Findings. Also included is the Report of References in the case, the judgment of the Court of Claims, and the opinion of the Court of Appeals.
