- The commissioner of education requested all boards of education and school administrators to complete an inventory of their official records. School districts completed forms recording data on the extent and location of: meeting minutes of trustees or boards of education; enrollment, attendance, grade, and graduation records; district organization papers, financial reports, payrolls and any other existing records. Most responses also include the founding dates of schools, and information on record storage conditions and previous losses of records.

- This series contains film negatives and photographic prints of historic sites, buildings, bridges, statues, monuments, and a few persons of statewide or local significance. It apparently contains interfiled photographs resulting from several projects to document historic sites in New York State. The projects included a Federally sponsored historic sites survey (circa 1936-1939); preliminary work on the Historical Album of New York State (1941-1942); and a resurvey of historic sites conducted by the Division of Archives and History (circa 1947-1949).

- This series consists of photographs of observances of the 150th anniversary of the American Revolution held throughout the state. The photographs show reenactments of battles, plays, and other pageantry; pageant organizers, participants, and spectators; placement of historical markers; scenes of pageant locations; and include photographs of Charles A. Lindbergh. These observances or pageants depicted were part of the statewide celebration of the 150th anniversary of events in 1776 and 1777, authorized by the Legislature in 1926 and 1927.

- This series contains lists of draftee from Albany induction stations and a history of North Salem during World War II. The history includes brief service records for each man and details home front activities such as salvage collection, war bond drives, blackouts, civil defense, rationing, and Red Cross projects. Albany induction lists contain the name; address; draft board and serial numbers, and induction date. Most inductees were Albany residents; others were from surrounding cities, downstate New York and western Massachusetts.
