This series consists of two versions of a manuscript on the archeology of prehistoric rock shelter and camp sites in southeastern New York, plus correspondence concerning the State Museum's acquisition of the manuscripts, authored by Max Schrabisch. The 1936 manuscript includes numbered illustrations ("figures") consisting of photographs of rock shelters, maps showing site locations, and diagrams or "ground plans" of rock shelters.

In 1958, the Commissioner's Advisory Committee on the Master Plan for School District Reorganization issued a revision of the 1947 Master Plan. This series consists of sympathy cards, letters, a condolence book, and a photography book that were collected by the Office for Elementary, Middle, Secondary and Continuing Education in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Most of the letters were sent from elementary school students in the Cypress School District in California to New York students who lost a parent in the attacks.

The Victory Book Campaign was a nationwide effort to collect books for members of the armed forces. New York State's participation in the Victory Book Campaign was coordinated by the Bureau of Library Extension. Outgoing correspondence relating to the State Teachers' Library

This bound volume contains press copies of letters sent by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to book publishers. The letters relate to the acquisition of books for the State Teachers' Library and many include lists of books accepted or refused for the Library. The State Teachers' Library was established in 1895 (Chapter 546) in the Department of Public Instruction to loan books by mail to teachers located in rural parts of the state.

This series consists of binders containing minutes, agenda items, and occasionally other meetings materials of NYSED's departmental cabinet. Minutes vary base on commissioner. The minutes of Commissioners Spaulding's and Wilson's cabinets include attendees, agenda items, short summaries of presentations, summaries of discussions, and actions lists of on agenda item. The minutes of Commissioner Nyquist's cabinet tend to be briefer, been more akin to "to-do lists," rather than detailed accounts of the meetings.
