Administrative History
In 2007, the Public Employees Ethics Reform Act (L. 2007, Ch. 14) combined the New York Temporary State Commission on Lobbying and the New York State Ethics Commission to form the New York State Commission on Public Integrity, and was operational on September 22, 2007. Annual reports from both agencies were transferred to the newly created New York State Commission on Public Integrity. In 2011, the Joint Commission on Public Ethics ("JCOPE") replaced the former Commission on Public Integrity pursuant to the Public Integrity Reform Act (L. 2011, Ch. 399).
Scope and Content Note
This series contains annual reports from the Commission on Lobbying (1978, 1980-1981, 1983, 1988, 1992, 1994-1996, 1999-2002, 2004-2006), the State Ethics Commission (2005 and 2006), and the Joint Commission on Public Integrity (2007-2008). The reports were submitted to the Governor and leaders of the State Senate and the State Assembly at the beginning of the new calendar year. The reports include information on the commissions' education and outreach efforts, enforcement, legislation, disclosure requirements, investigations, advisory opinions, structure, and commission members. They also provide financial listings of lobbyists.
