Scope and Content Note
These brief, preliminary records providing background information on new inmates were compiled before the full record was entered in the Admission Registers (series A1970).
The books provide the following information: admission date; name; age; name and relationship of guardian ('F' for father, 'M' for mother, uncle, foster father, etc.); address; city and county from which committed (usually same as city of residence); offense or other reason for commitment (e.g. petit larceny, "incorrigible," "without home or guardianship."); amount of time spent in jail before commitment; court from which committed.
