Administrative History
In 2010, the New York State Inspector General's Office released a report which found that the director of the New York State Theatre Institute (NYSTI), Patricia Snyder (who had been its executive head since the beginning), misappropriated funds and engaged in nepotism and other conduct that financially benefited herself and her family. For instance, Snyder was largely responsible for selecting NYSTI's productions, including ones in which she and her family personally received royalties as a result of the contracts she negotiated. Amid the allegations detailed in the Inspector General's report, Snyder resigned as NYSTI director in May 2010.
