- The Industrial Cost and Appraisal Unit makes cost appraisals of complex industrial/utility properties for market value survey and advisory purposes. The market values generated are transferred to the Property Valuation Bureau for use in developing equalization rates, and to municipalities for tax roll purposes. These records consist of equalization appraisals of taxable real property owned by corporations submitted to the Division of Equalization and Assessment to regulate tax assessment and assist local governments in administering the real property tax.

Blake and Associates. The purpose of these reports was to estimate the deprecation under Medicare/Medicaid regulation of all assets of the Department of Mental Hygiene. Included in these reports are definitions of terms, listings of assets appraised, plot/floor plans, and narrative descriptions of buildings.

- An 1851 law provided for the state to undertake the care and teaching of "idiots" (the contemporary term for people with certain developmental disabilities). The New York State Asylum for Idiots, with a capacity for 100 residents, was completed on August 10, 1855. The series consists of 19th century watercolor renderings and pencil and ink drawings of the original building. The asylum was the first public facility in the nation for the care and treatment of persons with mental retardation.

- This series, a "Map of Capitol Park Albany N.Y," is a combination location map and site plan and includes several profiles and one diagram of landscaping work planned for Capitol Park during construction of the State Capitol. Apparently prepared by George L. Schillner, the map shows the Capitol building, the Capitol Park grounds, surrounding streets, driveways, access points, locations of water pipes, hose hydrants, catch basins, tile drains from the basins, and specifications for area and protecting walls.
