Included is a description book providing physical descriptions and enlistment data, and a clothing book documenting distribution date(s) and money value of clothing distributed to the men of Company H. Few members of the company are listed and most entries are incomplete. Also include is a summary account of clothing issues to the various companies of the regiment, and a quartermaster list for stores received from United States. Thirty eight of the sixty-five militia organizations that served in the Civil War are documented in this series. Most of these records were transcribed from the multi-volume U.S. War Department publication, <emph render="italic">The War of the Rebellion: A Compilation of the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies</emph>. These transcriptions provide a chronological record of the activities of individual units during the Civil War as reported in the Official Records.

The cards were procured by the New York Bureau of War Records from the federal government pursuant to Chapter 75 of the Laws of 1919.
