- In 1958, the Commissioner's Advisory Committee on the Master Plan for School District Reorganization issued a revision of the 1947 Master Plan. - This series is a portfolio of blue line maps of the site, geology, and land use of a proposed super-conducting super collider (SSC) nuclear particle research facility in Orange County. Maps indicate the exact route of the never built tunnel. The first plate in the portfolio lists all attachments by plate number and title. Plates typically include scales, legends, key maps, and sometimes-extensive notes on acreage, boundaries, and man-made and naturally occurring attributes.

- This series consists of mostly glass plate negatives of topographic maps used in forest fire detection in the northern, central, and southern portions of the state. Observation rings, with observation stations or fire towers located at the center, are superimposed on the maps. Adjacent fire towers would use these maps to report smoke and ranger stations could then triangulate the location.

- The Victory Book Campaign was a nationwide effort to collect books for members of the armed forces. New York State's participation in the Victory Book Campaign was coordinated by the Bureau of Library Extension. Included are correspondence, press releases, texts of radio programs and announcements, clippings, instruction manuals, statistical reports, fiscal records, fliers, posters, and maps.
