- In the 1970s, the Department of Correctional Services began to adopt policies and procedures geared toward meeting accreditation standards of the American Correctional Association. In conjunction with this process, State correctional facilities began maintaining centralized security logs, known as Watch Commander's logs. Watch Commander's logs provide basic documentation of administrative procedure, as well as documentation of controversial events. Therefore, excerpts are used frequently in investigations, prosecutions, and litigation pertaining to inmate conduct and/or actions by employees of correctional institutions.

- These logs contain data on thousands of oil, gas, and solution salt wells drilled since 1930. An oil or gas well log is a detailed graphic/narrative record that progressively describes the geological strata and any oil, gas, or water that is encountered during the drilling of a well. The logs provide details about the location of oil and gas resources in the state, and significant data concerning the geological characteristics of the areas where the wells are located.

The shop, part of the vocational program, taught the fundamentals of printing orders list date; item ordered and number of pages in the print run. Printed items range from a variety of blank forms, to promotional literature and event ephemera. (posters, event notices, tickets, invitations), to identification cards and printed rules of conduct.

- This series consists of investigation and interview files of the Special Commission on Attica (chaired by Robert B. McKay and known as the "McKay Commission"). The commission investigated the Attica Correctional Facility riot of 1971. Resulting records include personal interview sheets or transcripts; depositions and preliminary statements; copies of facility logs and other administrative records; lists of dead and wounded; draft commission reports; photographs; documents regarding negotiations with rioters; and documents confiscated from inmates.
