- The New York State Soldiers Depot was established to be a place of rest and relief for sick, sounded, furloughed, and discharged New York soldiers during the Civil War. This series includes correspondence, descriptive rolls for individual soldiers, receipts for claims, inventories of the depot's kitchen and dining room, discharge papers, receipts for official records received from the Adjutant-General's Office, certificates of enlistment, matron's reports, list of depot expenditures, receipts for work performed at the depot, and furloughs.

- This series contains inventories created by Zone Coordinators working for the Mutual Aid for Highway Repair and Debris Clearance, which was organized to repair highways or streets or to remove debris in the event of an enemy attack. The inventories include all equipment and material owned by the State, counties, cities, villages, and towns. Information included in the inventories was distributed to the public works and highway officials in each zone for planning for emergency use of the resources.

- Inventories of moveable property were submitted annually to the Comptroller (later, the Canal Auditor) by the superintendents of repairs, toll collectors, and weigh masters. The superintendents' inventories list materials, tools, and machinery on hand and include value, condition, and whether bought in previous year. Toll keepers and weigh master inventories list office furniture, books of canal laws and regulations, other books and circulars, and letters of instruction kept in the office.

Included are an inventory of the dental clinic (March 1958); memoranda concerning three security matters: visitation of an inmate, loose drugs found in the laboratory, and theft from the operating room (July 1958); and informational booklets on communicable diseases and infections in hospitals (1960).

- The annual statement from the Office of the Auditor of the State Canal gives monthly totals of the number and weights of cargoes at weigh locks on the Erie Canal. The weekly abstract includes the number of loaded boats weighed and/or bound for various destinations, and the poundage of cargoes weighed every day. The inventory lists furniture, laws, regulations, and directives found in the weigh masters' offices.
