Summary
- The series consists of a small amount of contingent account vouchers (1854-1859) from the State Asylum for Idiots, and special fund estimates (1920-1923) from the Syracuse State School. These are probably only a small part of a larger (unknown) group of institutional finance or purchase records. The estimates are for office stationery items, rubber footwear, coal, and other commodities approved for purchase by the State Department of Purchase.

Summary
- The series consists of documents relating to the Canaseraga Creek improvement project begun in 1906. The Canaseraga Creek is an important tributary of the Genesee River. Heavy silt deposits and the irregular course of the creek inhibited free passage of water, resulting in severe annual flooding. The slow subsidence of flood waters on the flat land impaired cultivation and caused damage. The records document efforts to redress the situation posed by damage to the public health.

Arranged by canal starting with Erie, then chronologically by year, and alphabetical by name of Superintendent of Repairs, the records provide detailed information on labor performed (including laborers' names and wages) and expenditures on construction or repair projects on the Erie, Champlain, Oswego, Cayuga and Seneca, Chemung, Crooked Lake, Chenango, Genesee Valley, and Black River canals.

For each section of the canal there is an abstract of the account for that section, listing work done, extra material used, pay rate, total amount due, date, and contractor's name.

- This series consists of a manuscript version of Erie Canal Eastern Division Engineer Daniel C. Jenne's report and cost estimates in relation to enlarging the locks on the Eastern Division of the canal from Albany to Higginsville. In the narrative report, Jenne describes specific issues with existing canal locks and structures that would affect the manner in which enlarged locks were constructed. Jenne provides summary and detailed cost estimates for the construction of stone locks, wood locks, and wood and stone locks, as well as for the completion of necessary improvements to related canal structures such as aqueducts, culverts, and bridges.
