This series consists of letters patent to William Basset for lot 95 in the Township of Homer, Montgomery County. One hundred acres in the southeast corner is reserved to the state, and five of every one hundred acres is to be reserved for highways. The patent was issued with the condition that the settlement is made on the tract within seven years.

The Holland Land Company was an association of Dutch banks and other investors speculating in American land during the late 1700s. The company purchased over five million acres in central and western New York and Pennsylvania. This series consists of a portfolio of deeds (conveyances of real property) for individual lots in the Holland Purchase. Deeds are signed duplicate originals, and contain maps of lots conveyed.

These volumes were created by the comptroller's office to record information related to quit rents on patents granted by the colony, including payments of arrears, quit rent sales, redemptions, and conveyances. Information is grouped by patent. Each patent has a separate heading that gives register number; docket number; name of patentees; county; total number of acres granted; date granted; quit rent rate per hundred acres per annum; when payment was last made; and a description of the property location.
