- Physicians across the state were required to report each case of designated communicable diseases to the State Department of Health. This series consists of personal and medical data of polio victims. Personal data includes patient's name; address; occupation; age; sex; color/race; and national origin. Medical data includes where and how the disease was contracted; physical relationship to milk production or dairy farming; onset, duration, extent, and location of paralysis; contagion preventative measures; and (after 1960) immunization history. Records are restricted pursuant to state and federal laws.

- This series consists of an abstract of military service for New York residents (men and women) who enlisted or who were inducted into the armed forces of the United States from 1917 through 1919 during the First World War. The abstracts, (aka service cards), document Army officers and enlisted men; Navy personnel; Marines; and Nurses. Basic data is given on the individual, his/her residence, induction into military service, organizations served with, overseas service, and discharge from the service.

- The New York Guard was created and later reactivated as a state defense force to replace the New York National Guard when the latter was mobilized into federal service during the two world wars. - Auburn's Classification Board evaluated each individual incarcerated in the prison and decided the appropriate level of administrative custody and rehabilitation program. This series consists of cards with information on those individuals and Classification Board decisions. Many individuals were transferred from Sing Sing Prison. The cards list name and consecutive number, birthdate, color; crime; sentence; probable release date; dates and locations of previous confinements; results of psychological tests and psychiatric examinations; psychiatric and administrative classification. Records are restricted to protect personal privacy.
