This series consists primarily of documents obtained by the Special Counsel to Governor George Pataki in connection with the governor's investigation of potential ethics violations made by then-New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi. Records were supplied mostly by the Office of the State Comptroller in response to subpoenas. Records were also supplied by the General Counsel to the Office of the New York City Comptroller in response to subpoenas, by the New York State Ethics Commission, and by other sources.

This series consists of transcripts of testimony and accompanying exhibits from the investigation. Also included is the commission's Notice of Probable Cause.
