- In March 1941, the Committee on Discrimination in Employment was formed for the purpose of encouraging complete utilization in defense work of all individuals without consideration of race, color, creed, or national origin. This series contains minutes, correspondence, reports, memoranda, newspaper clippings, press releases, pamphlets, and a procedures manual for field workers (Labor Discrimination Representatives), all of which document the committee's efforts to investigate and discourage discrimination and promote fair employment practices.

- This series contains general correspondence files relating to the planning and implementation of the Mutual Aid Plan for Highway Repair and Debris Clearance in the event of a wartime emergency. - This series contains information on the War Council's efforts to attract women to the nursing profession in order to alleviate the acute shortage exacerbated by World War II, and to assist in the recruitment of nurses into the armed services by keeping a roster of nursing personnel. Classification forms collected by the Procurement and Assignment Committee contain a wealth of demographic data.

- This series includes records of payments of readjustment allowances to unemployed veterans who served in World War II and the Korean War. These payments were authorized for up to fifty-two weeks by the Federal Readjustments Act of 1944 and subsequent state and federal laws. Each card includes veteran's name, military service number, address, and weekly payments made. These cards are used to verify military service of individuals for whom other records are lacking.

- The Victory Book Campaign was a nationwide effort to collect books for members of the armed forces. New York State's participation in the Victory Book Campaign was coordinated by the Bureau of Library Extension. These records relate to the acquisition, shipping, and distribution of books; publicity for the program; compilation of program statistics; and American finances. Included are correspondence, press releases, texts of radio programs and announcements, clippings, instruction manuals, statistical reports, fiscal records, fliers, posters, and maps.

- This scrapbook, labelled "Sample newspaper clippings, September 1943 to April 1944," is comprised solely of clippings from New York State publications.
