Summary
Established in 1863, the Soldiers' Depot was to be "a place of rest and relief for the sick and wounded, furloughed and discharged soldiers belonging to the State of New York who shall have been, now are, or may hereafter be engaged in the United States service while being transported to and from their homes..." This series consists of minutes, resolutions, reports, and a small amount of correspondence generated by or directed to the Board of Managers of the Depot.

This series consists of two bound volumes compiled by Medical agents assigned to the Washington office of the New York Military Agency. The registers date between February, 1865 and September, 1866. Volume one relates mainly to the processing of soldiers' claims for back pay, invalid pensions, or other monetary concerns. Volume two records claims of soldiers in hospitals applying for discharges, transfers, or furloughs.
