Theatre Institute technical drawings of stage designs
Series Number
22474
Summary
This series consists of 991 digital drawings and other files associated with the productions of the New York Theatre Institute (NYSTI). The bulk of the files consist of computer-assisted design drawings of various productions. In addition, there are 368 digital photographs documenting the props, costumes, and settings of NYSTI productions, as well as some images used in the research of various productions.
Also known as "show bibles," these binders produced by the New York State Theatre Institute contain information useful in designing costumes for productions and recreating them for future productions, if necessary. Some of the information in these show bibles is duplicated in the New York State Theatre Institute stage management files (Series 22473), but the overall focus is on costumes and costume design.

Summary
Stage management files are technical working files that detail every minute aspect of the stage production for a particular play performed by the New York State Theatre Institute (NYSTI). Records document such issues as stage lighting and stage direction, sound cues, blocking, sound tracks, and the placement of props on a set. The series contains only a sampling of NYSTI plays, mainly those that were either original productions or foreign performances.
