Information includes name, physical description, birth date, occupation, grade, and enlistment data.

Some vouchers and forms regarding servants also appear.

The Military Board was responsible for the initial enrollment and mustering of troops as well as directing the expenditure of funds necessary to supply and equip them. This unbound volume deals with claims filed against the state for expenses incurred in the organization, equipment, and subsistence of troops at the beginning of the Civil War. Essentially this series is a compilation of explanations describing claims against the state as well as listing the amount being claimed.

Included are special orders authorizing the organization of the unit; orders transferring the regiment to the Department of the Gulf; a letter requesting the resignation of the unit's adjutant; a signed petition requesting the regiment be mustered out of service; telegrams concerning the mustering out of the regiment; and portraits of Commissary Sergeant Charles E.

No information is provided on the date the claim was filed, amount claimed, or if the claim was awarded. There are no dates contained within the volume but it was probably compiled sometime between 1865 and 1868 when the majority of claims were filed.

Abstracts list: name; date and place of enlistment; age; length of enlistment; date mustered in; grade; birthplace; occupation; eye and hair color; complexion; height; and Congressional District number. Some include how each man left his organization and remarks such as drafted, a substitute (often named), or deserted.
