This series consists of correspondence to and from Dr. Wallace Craig concerning his research into the song of the wood pewee. Most of the correspondence is with observers of the wood pewee who sent Craig records of its song. Some song records are included.

Notes include information on bird species, location where observed, bird activities, and weather conditions. Other volumes contain notes on plant species observed during field trips. Two volumes contain notes relating to photographic records including photographer name; description of subject of photograph; and film, lighting, and exposure data.

Summary
Original data slips, a collection listing, and some correspondence and photographs relate to the Benjamin W. Arnold Collection of Birds Eggs donated by Arnold to the State Museum in 1917. The small quantity of correspondence, 1908-1917, is between Arnold and other collectors and concerns the acquisition of specimens by Arnold. The photographs were sent to Arnold by fellow collector Walter Raines and depict specimens in Raines' collection, including displays, as well as nests observed in the field.
