- Legislation passed in 1864 appointed a board mandated "to receive proof, ascertain and determine what regiments of the uniformed militia or National Guard have lost, worn out or destroyed their uniforms in the service of the United States." These minutes record the board's resolutions, procedures adopted as to the filing of claims, descriptions of claims submitted by regiments, abstracts of claims audited and allowed, abstracts of claims audited and allowed to clothing manufacturers for uniforms, and descriptions of board expenses.

- This series consists of various types of printed forms, reports, incoming correspondence, lists of men who were mustered into the service of the United States government, and an assortment of printed material submitted by local officials to the Bureau of Military Statistics between 1863 and 1868. The records were initially compiled pursuant to Chapter 113, Laws of 1863 which required the Bureau of Military Statistics, in addition to other duties, to "collect and preserve...an account of the aid afforded by the several towns and counties of this state." In 1865 (Chapter 690), the Legislature further specified the type of information which the bureau was to collect.

- This volume contains abstracts of vouchers pertaining to the support of the state's military at the outset of the Civil War. Each entry provides date, voucher number, description, and amount. The bulk of the series pertains to three million dollars appropriated to raise and equip 30,000 troops for federal service with vouchers for rations, bedding, eating utensils, uniforms, arms, equipment, and transportation costs. Other accounts relate to purchase of arms and equipment for the state's militia, for military hospital supplies, for quartering costs, and for personnel in the military bureaucracy.
